Tour de Maties 2010

Tour de Maties 2010

The Tour de Maties has a rich history and the Matie club members always used to organize this event in the beginning of the racing season to build some team spirit and obviously to whip the riders into some shape! After two years of not hosting the event, it will be back from 5-8 January in 2010 and we will be traveling through some lovely Cape areas for four days. This tour will follow mostly on gravel roads for about 100km per day and is for the slightly more serious riders. If there are some riders who would like to do this at a more leisurely pace and join for the vibe, they are more than welcome, but they will have to form a second group.

  • Route (not final at this stage):
    • Day one: Stellenbosch to Greyton.
    • Day two: Greyton to Elim
    • Day three: Elim to Onrus
    • Day four: Onrus to Stellenbosch
  • We will book campsites in advance
  • There will be a backup vehicle to move our luggage from one destination to the next. The backup vehicle will not  necessaraliy travel behind us to pick up any strugglers as it will have other things to do.
  • The cost will probably be around R700 which will include dinner.
  • Please contact Erik or CM through the contacts page for more information or to RSVP before 15 December 2009
